PG 511: Guild SB 202 Bass - two pickups, toggle switch, mini switch, 3 pots, output jack, 13 screw holes
MAKE OFFER Looking for a Nice USA Strat DeArmond T-400 Duane Eddy guitar One of the limited Korean-made'DeArmond by Guild' T-400s. Serial number( KC9122775) shows it was built in Korea in 1999. Made by the Guild and DeArmond lines. Built on a Guild design using DeArmond USA electronics.
A seven-digit serial number beginning with six, for example, indicates 1996; a seven-digit number beginning with seven denotes 1997; an eight-digit number beginning with 98 denotes 1998, etc. A “KC” prefix was introduced on Korean-made instruments in 1997, designating instrument made in Korea at the Cort factory.
Dear Sir or Madam, I have a beautiful semi-hollowbody DeArmond, serial number: s/n KC01045844. My questions are: how old and what model? Additionally, if you have an approximate value, that would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance, Jimbo210 Share.
For the year 1994, ONLY the model prefix and last serial number for each model produced is available. For 1995 and 1996, Guild returned to the system which used a separate serial number prefix for each guitar model, and also the first and last serial number produced for each model in each given year.
The DeArmond guitars were all, or mostly, based on Guild models of yesteryear. Once Fender entered into a distribution deal with Gretsch, they discontinued all the Guild and DeArmond electrics. This is interesting because Fender doesn't own Gretsch, but they favor them over Guild, which they do own.

Guild Guitars was formed after the old Epiphone Company was sold to Gibson in the early 1950s. The earliest Guilds look just like the last NY Epiphones. The guitars are usually fitted with great-sounding D'Armond Pickups or DiMarzios on later models. On most hollowbodies, the original pickguard is made of clear plexiglass with a logo screened on the back, then lacquered black. Fender has asked us not to use their Trademarks on our products, so we usually just use black plexiglass (color 55). On the solidbodies, the original guards were usually 5-ply black/parchment bakelite. As most Guild bass owners know, the bakelite material is very brittle & breaks up at the output jack. For these, we usually use our color 122, black/parchment 5-ply, which looks the same but is much more durable. Click here for a list of Guild serial numbers. Guild was owned for awhile by Fender, it is now owned by Cordoba Music Group.
This page also includes pickguards for DeArmond imported guitars.
